The Opportunity

At our Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. One of our key programmes is the Airbus A330. We are seeking a Project Manager to join the Airbus A330 team on a 24-month contract ensuring effective delivery of the project on time, within budget and within scope. Working with the Programme Manager and Director, you will oversee all aspects of the project, set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of the project, reporting as necessary to ensure our project remains on track. How You'll Contribute

In this role, you will:

 

  •      Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  •      Create a 'handshake' with the project sponsor on the project objectives & project baseline and determine a plan to realize those objectives.
  •      Set-up of project structure to enable measuring project performance 
  •      Ensure that the project is delivered on-time, on-value, within scope and within budget
  •      Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of project
  •      Ensure resource availability and allocation
  •      Develop a detailed project schedule to monitor and track progress
  •      Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, value and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  •      Measure and analyze project performance using appropriate tools and techniques and define recovery plans where deviations to plan so demand. 
  •      Report and escalate to management as needed
  •      Manage the relationship with all stakeholders
  •      Actively assess the risk profile and determine effective mitigation plans to minimize project risks
  •      Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  •      Manage communication to external stakeholders
  •      Coordinate and delegate work-packages to work-package leaders 
  •      Support project members to develop their individual strengths & skill sets and grow their experience levels
  •      Meet business case objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis

What You'll Bring

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential:

  • Proven working experience in managing complex projects in an industrial environment

Desirable:

  • Project Management Professional certification like IPMA level C/PMP/ APM PMQ / /Other certification is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management experience within aerospace
