Job Summary
Our modern manufacturing facility at Western Approach is an International Centre of Excellence in composite wing structure design and production, manufacturing composite wing spars and Fixed Trailing Edge assemblies for some of the world's most popular aircrafts.
The Programme Manager will report to the A350 Programme Manager and will be responsible for the execution of the work package and contract in line with requirements and the agreed scope. The Programme Manager will provide support to the A350 Programme Manager with NPI activities up to and including Lifecycle Gate 7 and with on-going management activities of the programme from Lifecycle Gate 7 and beyond. This is a highly visible role, which requires the ability to influence and engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
As Programme Manager you’ll undertake the following responsibilities:
- Supports the execution of the programme to comply with all the business case and contractual requirements
- Responsible for continuously monitoring the performance of the allocated programmes, managing off-track items and for reporting progress through the PPS.
- Creates Programme Improvement Plans including cost improvement, pricing initiatives, enable Zero Defects Manufacturing, redesign initiatives, gaining agreement with relevant stakeholders.
- Provides input to make, move, buy decisions and strategic procurement decisions.
- Supports the A350 Programme Manager in defining the vision, strategy, budget for the program to optimize cash flow, profitability and growth.
- Adheres to all programme management standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Programme Management framework
- Actively executes Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management to control and mitigate the risk exposure and take advantage of opportunities.
- Responsible for planning and performance of Life Cycle Gate, including preceding Reviews.
- Responsible for updating Sales/Demand Plan and initiating demand management for serial purchase orders.
- Responsible for undertaking any other activity required to ensure successful delivery of the program.

Essential
- Extensive experience gained from a project manager role
- Experience working in Commercial or Operations within an industrial environment
- Proven leadership skills on mid- senior management level
- Strong stakeholder management experience with ability to influence and engage with others
- Significant experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
Desirable
- Project Management Professional certification such as IPMA level C/PMP/ APM PMQ
- BSc degree or equivalent
- Experience gained from the Aerospace industry
