Job Summary

GKN Aerospace has a strategic intent to be the most sustainable and trusted partner in the Aerospace industry. A collaboration is planned between GKN Aerospace, ‘GKN Hydrogen’ and HiiROC in which our parent company Melrose is an investor. This collaboration aims to pilot the installation of a novel hydrogen power system at GKN Aerospace’s brand new Global Technology Centre in Filton, Bristol. This system will aim to decarbonise the GTC creating a blue print for what is possible across our businesses and wider industrial landscape and is therefore stands to offer a significant environmental benefit. 
The role will program manage the end to end program, from refining the business case, scope and overall plan, creating the collaboration agreements and contracts with external bodies, managing the program tasks, costs and performance through to certifying the system and creating the blueprint for wider application. 


Job Responsibilities

Responsible for:
•    Refining the existing (top level) business case which has achieved board approval. 
•    Confirming the scope, contents, tasks, resources and key enablers required to deliver the objectives of the program. 
•    Engaging through our External relations team with external bodies required to secure funding leverage. 
•    Collaborate with representatives of the different external partners, in particular HiiROC and GKN Hydrogen to ensure a fully integrated plan. 
•    Ensure an effective management of risk to protect the safety of people and business continuity. 
•    Manage the execution of the program, managing costs, budgets and external funds and performance (Schedule and financial) adherence to the plan. 
•    Engaging in both internal and external communications activities as required to inspire our people, customers and ecosystem and to enhance GKN Aerospace reputation.
•    Ensuring that the program operates in line with all applicable GKN Aerospace policies and standards. 

Job Qualifications

•    Program management, preferably skilled in the use of lifecycle management principles and processes.
-    Experience leading large and complex technical projects
-    Excellent communication skills, across all levels of the organisation
-    Ability to process large bandwidth of project information, filter noise and demonstrate initiative to address key opportunities, issues and risks.
-    Detailed understanding of project principles and terminology, qualified in PM
•    Technical background in hydrogen, heating systems, power systems and new technology application. 
•    Operational or construction background in utilities or facilities management, experience of new installations beneficial
