Job Summary

The PME is a primary representative for ME at all Filton SA programme technical reviews both internally and externally with customer and suppliers. The position is critical for ensuring that the manufacturing system meets all stakeholder requirements including; technical compliance, adherence to ME processes and standards such as APQP/PPAP and ultimately achieves the programme business case including quality, delivery and cost. The role will be part of the Filton SA IPT with an additional reporting line into the CME.

Job Responsibilities

     Work with customers on future projects to enable design for manufacture.
     Completion of projects that enable delivery of the manufacturing system in line with the Zero Defects (APQP/PPAP) philosophy and in doing so meeting the requirements of the customer and that of the programme business case.
     Compilation of technical proposals for new bids across all Filton commodities and to support global SA initiatives where required.
     Support the Commercial function in changes to contract that have technical implications.
     Be the business line technical representative on the SA change control board to ensure any changes to the manufacturing system are documented and have technical justifications for the changes.
     Delivery of all ME metrics as required by the function and the programme. i.e. product safety, Quality (including Right First Time), Delivery where there are deliverables within an agreed plan/schedule. Cost, both RC and NRC & Change management where applicable.
     Adherence to all applicable quality processes such as all regulatory rules and guidelines, customer mandates and Export control and ITAR requirements.
     Support the development of any Technology road and activity maps for the Filton Airbus single aisle programme ensuring the business case is clearly defined before execution for the specific intended application.

Job Qualifications

     SAP Engineering 
     Must have a HNC/ONC (or equivalent) level qualification and/or a recognised trade qualification with manufacturing experience in an aerospace production environment
     Knowledge of and ability to use and implement LEAN tools and techniques
     Knowledge of GKN and its working procedures including Filton BMS
     Strong communication and IT skills including SAP and MS Office
     Ability to function as a team player.
     Ability to work under own initiative within a defined programme and targets
     Ability to use and knowledge of APQP.
     Airbus drawing/specification understanding and interpretation.
