Job Summary

Based at our modern Manufacturing facility at Western Approach We have a requirement for an NDT Technician to join our team to inspect and evaluate the A350XWB and A400M carbon wing spars and their associated components throughout the manufacturing process. These inspections will utilise semi-automated and manual phased array/conventional pulse echo ultrasonic testing techniques. 

Reporting to the NDT (Level 3), you will be working on a 12/7 shift pattern. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ultrasonic inspection of carbon fibre composite wing spars & associated components
  • Maintenance of aerospace quality standards
  • Support as required to the NDT Level 3
  • Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration for production
  • Performing Ultrasonic Testing on various aircraft materials, components and structures
  • Interfacing with customers and auditing bodies (NADCAP, LRQA, etc) and to provide support to the auditing process.
  • Writing Procedures, Instruction & Techniques as required.
  • Performing Control Checks on Test Method capability

How You'll Contribute

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:


  • Apprenticeship in a Manufacturing Engineering subject or equivalent
  • EN4179 Level 2 Qualification in Ultrasonic Inspection of Carbon Fibre Composites
  • Previous experience in an Inspection role 
  • An Understanding and adherence to aerospace quality standards


  • Extensive experience in Ultrasonic Testing/Inspection
  • BEng in Aerospace Engineering or Manufacuturing Engineering
  • Understanding of composite structures 
  • Understanding of LEAN methodologies
