Job Summary
Join GKN Aerospace as a Manufacturing Engineer, playing a key role in the development and industrialisation of cutting-edge Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technology.
You'll provide Manufacturing Engineering capability to operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to tooling and fixtures.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies, championing a safety-first mindset.
- Responsible for the development of technical solutions to complex problems within GKN Aerospace, our customers and suppliers.
- Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration for production tooling (manufacture and assembly)
- Utilise root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
- Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
- Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
What You'll Bring
To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
Essential:
- Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering within a regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000).
- Experience in process planning, tooling design, materials selection, or quality engineering.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Desirable:
- Experience in Project/Program Management.
- Familiarity with AS9145 APQP processes or equivalent.
