Job Summary

We are seeking a new Logistics Team Leader to lead the Logistics team in managing, operating and controlling all physical flows to, within and 
from the Filton site. They will manage the teams and process effectiveness of receiving operations, transport organising and planning, warehouse operations, management of physical inventory, internal logistics and outbound operations.

This role is part of the Supply Chain Function and whilst your responsibilities are predominantly focused on Logistics activities, there may be the requirement - based on your skill set and experience - to support the wider function when necessary due to business needs.

Job Responsibilities

 Ownership of risk management for safe working practises, assesses risks, competently implements effective risk mitigation actions and drives a culture or safety and ownership
 Manages the workload of the area (receiving, shipping, internal movements, warehouse) and optimise the allocated resources.
 Defines and set up the physical organisation of warehouses within site(s)
 Organises and control the internal transportation of material in order to assure the best service level and cost.
 Provide the interface between supply chain and production at shop floor level ensuring material movement is in accordance with operational expectations.
 Develops and optimises all physical and information flows using Lean principles (including company owned external warehouses).
 Manages and controls the transactional flow for all physical flows.
 Understands budget processes, can competently raise shopping carts and close out invoices
 Ensures actual inventory accuracy and reliability (FIFO and Cycle counting etc)
 Manages inbound and outbound freight with external providers, suppliers and customers.
The Logistics Group Leader is responsible for the following APQC items in the relevant site(s):
4.4 Manage logistics and warehousing
o 4.4.2 “Plan and manage inbound material flow
o 4.4.3 “Operate warehousing
o 4.4.4 “Operate outbound transportation
o 4.4.5 “Manage returns; manage reverse logistics
o 4.4.6 “Plan material handling and storage
o 4.4.7 “Manage inventory storage, location and movement
o 4.4.9 “Manage kitting operations

Job Qualifications

Essential:
Experience and expertise in Warehouse & Logistics processes to include Transport 
Management, Internal Flows and Warehousing, Inventory Management, Customs and 
Transport Regulations, People Management
Desirable:
APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management
Entry level for Transportation Management, Inbound / Outbound Flow, Internal Flow & 
Warehousing and End-to-End Supply Chain Management
