Job Summary

We are seeking a new Technology Programme Director, who will be accountable for the execution of new product technology introduction programmes and deployment and insertion into manufacture in line with all business case and contractual requirements. The Technology Programme Director leads Technology exploitation and embodiment both in existing programmes and NPI, up to and including Lifecycle Gate 6, and in conjunction with Operations from Lifecycle Gate 7 and beyond. The Technology Programme Director is accountable for leading the Change Control Board and ensuring the smooth execution of technology insertion changes in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  •      Delivery of NPI and Technology Deployment to time and budget. 
  •      Leads the interface with the Customer for all aspects of the technology programme.
  •      Accountable for the execution of the technology program, including changes, in compliance with the business case and contract.
  •      Responsible for identifying and then developing the business case in collaboration with specific Programme Directors  for the implementation of technology advancement into existing product, or as an enabler to NPI. 
  •      Responsible for supporting technology insertion into proposal process of follow-on work including changes.
  •      Drives the deployment of improvements to the programme in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, for example, improvements to product performance and cost.
  •      Delivers program financial results in accordance with agreed KPIs and targets.
  •      Acts as the voice of the customer with all other stakeholders.
  •      Partners with the SVP Customer and the Strategic Director to define the vision, strategy and objectives for technology insertion considering strategic customer requirements.
  •      Adheres to all programme management standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Programme Management framework.
  •      Actively manages risk and opportunities to mitigate risk exposure and realise opportunities.
  •      Accountable for New Product Introduction up to and including Lifecycle Gate 6, and responsible for Lifecycle Gate 7 and beyond in conjunction with Operations.
  •      Develop the IPT as a team in order to maximize the effectiveness of the programme.
  •      Responsible for Creating a Great Place to Work and for championing the GKN Aerospace 5 culture principles.

Job Qualifications

The role requires a determined and highly motivated individual with tenacity and a ‘can do’ attitude. Experience and tangible evidence of success in driving large complex programmes to secure objectives is a necessity. The individual must show a willingness to challenge the norm. and to stretch the organisation to grow and exceed prior achievements. An operational background and understanding of industrialisation processes and criteria would be beneficial. They will also need:

  •      A robust Programme Management focused background with proven track record of delivery achievement.  
  •      Significant experience in commercial, finance, engineering or programme management disciplines. 
  •      Must possess a comprehensive knowledge in all functional disciplines and be proficient in the fundamentals of Program Management, finance and LEAN principles. 
  •      Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, organizational and communication skills. 
  •      Ability to lead, coach and mentor highly skilled and experienced direct reports
