Job Summary

 

GKN Aerospace has a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Resource Coordinator to join the Design Engineering team. Ideally we are looking for someone who has a background in workforce planning and data analysis. You will ideally be based in the Global Technology Centre, Bristol, but could also be based at other GKN sites within the UK.

 

The Resource Coordinator will provide support to the Engineering Resource Manager with regards to workforce planning (people and capabilities) and associated data analysis activities, including liaison with external supplier personnel and internal GKN Managers as required. Although based in the UK, being part of the international Civil Airframe Engineering Business Management Team, you will be involved with data analysis from across the GKN Aerospace Design Engineering business.  For this reason, some international travel may be required.
 

Job Responsibilities

 

You will be given support and training in the position, whilst day to day, having full involvement in the following aspects of the role:

 

Workforce Planning
•    Maintenance of the headcount lists within the Workforce Planning Tool.
•    Liaison with Resource Requestors to understand demand and manage local resource requests.
•    Chasing of Resource Request demand and forecast inputs into the Workforce Planning Tool.
•    Maintenance of Project lists within the Workforce Planning Tool in liaison with Programme representatives and the Business Controllers.
•    Maintenance of Resource Deployment trackers.
•    Generation and maintenance of resource KPIs. 
•    Analysis and reporting of engineering utilisation.

 

Headcount
•    Maintenance of headcount trackers, including starters and leavers.
•    Management of the resource on-boarding process.
•    Generation of resource dashboard reports.

 

General Management
•    Data analysis for KPI reporting. 
•    Chasing of inputs and updates.
•    Provision and update of capability and capacity reports.
•    Update of IT resource registers.
•    Liaison with Business Controllers with regards to headcount and activity reporting.

How you’ll contribute

 

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

 

Essential:

  • Development and effective use of KPIs.
  • MS Excel skillset – including Workbook creation and Pivot Tables.
  • Data analysis and interpretation.

Desirable:

  • Experience of engineering and/or resource management functions
  • Experienced in People and Change Management, including ability to engage at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience of Project and Risk Management, including contingency planning
  • Commercial awareness
