The Opportuinty

To join our 26-strong Global Applications team, we are seeking a new Business Systems Developer as a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Specialist. In this role, you will use your technical knowledge of RPA to help us develop and configure automation applications and solutions for the business. Initially partnering our Finance team based in Filton, Bristol, you will be a trusted partner to them - asking the right questions, using your analytical skills to get to the heart of business needs and be a solutions provider in terms of the development, delivery and maintenance of automation systems. We currently use UiPath as a solutions provider, so a working knowledge of their products would be a distinct advantage in this role.

We are a global team, and you will work alongside colleagues in the US and the Netherlands as well as your UK-based colleagues, whose expertise you can draw on. Onsite circa. 3 days per week, with the opportunity to work from home too, you will have the chance to be part of a wider multi-functional team of IT business partners, members of the project management office, security and IT operations teams. How You'll Contribute

Specifically, you will:

  •      Work as part of a global team of automation subject matter experts to deliver automation development and support within agreed SLAs.
  •      Work alongside the other global IT functions (including IT operations, security, project management office and IT business partners) to support the delivery of the IT strategy in line with the IT operating model.
  •      Ensure IT security requirements are observed and designed into future demand/requirements.
  •      Provide structured training for business/function(s) for maximum effectiveness.
  •      Support the implementation of global IT standards.
  •      Be a trusted partner to the business in providing fit for purpose applications and solutions.
  •      Be aware of the latest capabilities and drive the use of standard automation tools, processes and best practice within the global organisation.
  •      Troubleshoot and provide fixes and enhancements to existing solutions.
  •      Provide technical development and implementation expertise and recommendations in assessing business requirements. Participate in design decisions incorporating global IT standards and industry best practice.
  •      Prepare test cases and strategies for unit and integration testing before solution launch.
  •      Supports change request process during implementation performing an impact assessment where required, and collaborate on compliance monitoring post-implementation (plan-do-check-act).
  •      Ensure the integrity and availability of applications and solutions across the application portfolio.
  •      Document automation processes and procedures (and maintain them).

What You'll Bring

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential:
•    Working knowledge of automation technologies and systems including RPA technologies (UiPath, Automation Anywhere etc).
•    Experience in a Developer role for robot automation technologies
•    Experience using programming languages, such as C#, C++, Java or .NET in a professional capacity
•    Understanding of SQL and relational databases
•    Understanding or experience of integration through the use of APIs.
•    Knowledge of business process modelling and an understanding of BPNM notations.
•    Knowledge or experience of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Desirable:     
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field 
•    Understanding or experience with web technologies, such as HTML and JavaScript.
•    Experience working with manufacturing and/or business systems such as ERP, Financial and HR Systems
