Job Summary

The Procurement Finance Manager is the senior finance executive co-ordinating and carrying out all financial activities related to procurement savings, supply chain financing and make vs buy decisions for GKN Aerospace as well as cost control and reporting for the Procurement function. They act as strategic business partner to the Aerospace Ops Finance Team and Aerospace CPO. They provide projections and drive savings plans for the organisation whilst also engaging in CI initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing the actual monthly results vs planned costs of the procurement function and driving the procurement team to their cost commitments (function, product and conversion costs)
  • Delivering actual reporting of purchasing performance (savings) aligned between the procurement organization and the regional/site results through gate sign off
  • Developing and maintaining a reporting and tracking system to compare year on year pricing impacts to the business
  • Leading and managing financial planning within the procurement organization (monthly forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning)
  • Acting as financial gate keeper for make vs buy projects and providing financial support to ensure relevant data and inputs are taken into consideration in make/buy decision
  • Leading supply chain financing activities for GKN Aerospace by driving the on boarding and business cases of suppliers to meet budget cash generation targets
  • Driving process development and standardisation within procurement and finance.

Job Qualifications


  • Bachelor Degree in Finance (or equivalent) minimum 5+ years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated track record of success in implementing CI, reporting and analytical tools
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills interacting at all levels of the organization including ability and effectiveness in presenting to senior management
  • Solid understanding and ability to review and analyse financial statements
  • Attention to detail, structured and strong analytically with ability to see the bigger picture
  • Forward thinking and takes a global view regarding the business
  • Literate in various systems and experience in building reports
  • Ability to interpret financial reporting and in a concise and clear, easy to understand  manner describe and communicate variances
  • Team worker with ability to express complex issues in a clear and concise way and persuasively
  • Experience from global multi site manufacturing businesses with complex processes, long lead times and substantial inventory management


  • Experience in CI and related tools and methodologies
  • Experience and understanding of Qlik
  • Knowledge and experience in process automation for financial systems
