The Global Leader, Lean Excellence Model, is a Lean Thinker with a very high level of expertise in Business Transformation. They will play a central role in developing the organization into a Lean enterprise through their leadership role in developing GKN Aerospace’s Lean Operating Model. They are the custodian of the Lean Excellence Model, coaching and influencing the leadership teams across the sites, ensuring rigour and fidelity to the model.

• The successful candidate will facilitate improvement implementation through targeted Six Sigma interventions:
o Value Stream Design
o Employee Teams engagement
o Kaizen Events
o Lean Operating Model Training Workshops
• Develop and maintain the Six Sigma strategy across the sites, taking into account the business opportunity and the voice of the customer.
• Jointly deliver measureable results in improvement in People engagement, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory.
• Provide leadership, coaching and training in Six Sigma methodologies, creating a network of trained and certified Six Sigma Black Belts and Green Belts.
• Coach and hold accountable Site Leadership teams and Site Lean Leaders in their utilization of Six Sigma methodologies for their plant improvements projects and operational improvements, in alignment with yearly budget plans.
• Advise the Regional Lean Deployment teams in the appropriate use of Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ensure best practice sharing across sites, regions, and divisions. Champion involvement, continued development and utilization of the certified Six Sigma Community.
• Build teams, act as a coach and change agent; role model for Safety first, People centricity, and Lean Leadership.
• Assure that targeted KPI improvements, including cost savings, are tracked, validated and posted to the site’s operating results.
• Train and coach to certification, ensuring that the appropriate number of our people are fully certified in Six Sigma at the appropriate level for their role.
• Build knowledge and best practice networks both internally and externally, developing self as a thought leader in the field of Six Sigma methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 10 years of experience in manufacturing environment with exposure to a Lean Operating Model / Business System.
• Six Sigma Black Belt level certification by a recognized body or company
• Must be a US Citizen. Must comply with ITAR regulations and site SSA requirements.

• Six Sigma Master Black Belt level certification by a recognized body or company

• Must be a proven leader within a relevant discipline and a quick learner who is adaptive to and embraces change.

• Excellent organizational and planning skills as well as the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Fosters open communication, values learning and is able to build employee effectiveness
• A passion for Lean Deployment at the system level
