Job Summary

Enable Regional Global Mobility (including business travellers), ensuring legal, tax and privacy compliance, adherence to GKN Aerospace policies & processes and minimisation of risks and liabilities.

Working with the COE to ensure global consistency for mobility and support development & refinement of policy & practice to meet business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide global mobility expertise and advice to Regional colleagues on globally mobile employees (incl. international assignments & business travellers) to support compliance, adherence to policy and minimisation of risk. 
  • Proactively support assignment/business travel planning, identifying potential issues and possible solutions in advance, as well as opportunities to minimise assignment costs. 
  • Work with Regional Global Mobility Managers to manage core mobility processes (cost estimates, contracts, assignment calculations etc), deliver consistency of service & approach within policy guidelines and escalate any policy exceptions, as needed.
  • Proactively monitor, review and assess frequent travellers to and from the region to ensure compliance (immigration, tax, social security, Posted Worker) and provide pragmatic but compliant solutions to meet business needs.
  • Management of regional assignment compliance and technical aspects of international assignments (both employee & company), including: 
  • Home & Host country tax position & local compliance requirements. 
  • Home & Host immigration position & provide guidance as required.  Subject matter expert on Regional immigration.  
  • Assess social security position, identifying actions required and understand the implications for both the assignee and the business.
  • Manage agreed annual processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of key expat activities (e.g. salary review, tax year ends, incentive releases etc.). 
  • Manage regional relationships with professional advisors to obtain technical advice in a timely manner & to budget. Interpret technical guidance & impact for company / employee and assess impact of regulatory changes. 
  • Key contact for Regional assignees before, during and after assignment to ensure understanding, provide support and monitor progress.
  • Contribute to refinement and development of global mobility policy and practice at global and regional levels in conjunction with Centre of Excellence 
  • Support Director, Regional Compensation & Benefits, Mobility & HR Administration with general compensation and incentives and ad-hoc projects, as required.


UK/Nordics specific compliance responsibilities: 

  • Specific responsibility for UK Modified Payroll, including Modified NIC and annual NSR as well as instruction and review of UK International Payroll.
  • Coordination, review and analysis of UK Short Term Business Visitor reporting. 
  • UK expat P11D reporting.
  • Coordination of Norwegian & Swedish shadow payroll and Swedish social security reporting.
  • Manage domestic UK relocations and secondments.
  • Subject Matter Expert on UK Immigration; support UK stakeholders with UK immigration compliance, keep up to date with technical updates and manage impact of technical changes.
