Job Summary
Supplier Quality Engineer is required to support GKN Aerospace Filton while being based in India.
This role is functionally responsible for supplier quality and industrialisation activities across the Filton supply chain, with a strong focus on supporting suppliers within Asia — primarily those located in India.
This role will be based in India and will primarily support suppliers across Asia, with the majority of engagement taking place within India. The position requires regular travel within India and across Asia, and occasional international travel when required.
The role supports industrialisation, product qualification, process improvement and supplier performance, requiring strong problem‑solving skills and effective cross‑functional collaboration.
How You'll Contribute
- Support industrialisation, tooling and product qualification activities (FAIRs, PPAP, APQP) for suppliers supporting the Filton site.
- Ensure supplier processes, documentation and certification meet GKN Aerospace requirements.
- Lead and support supplier‑based quality assurance activities, including process reviews, audits and capability assessments.
- Act as a focal point for supplier‑related product quality issues, including investigation of non‑conformances, escapes and robust root‑cause analysis.
- Drive supplier improvement plans aimed at enhancing process stability, product conformity and overall supply chain performance.
- Support deployment of quality and industrialisation performance metrics aligned with Procurement and Filton requirements.
- Collaborate with Filton Procurement, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve supplier issues and support industrialisation readiness.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, legal and quality requirements within the supplier base.
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Degree In Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace or equivilent engineering
- Strong background in engineering and quality assurance.
- Experience and skilled with Microsoft office, and ERP systems
- Target-oriented and outgoing with good communication skills
- Knowledge of aerospace regulations, standards (AS/EN, APQP/PPAP), and FAIRs.
- Experience with cross‑functional collaboration between Procurement, Engineering and Quality.
- Proficient in English both written & verbal
Desirable:
- Skilled in root‑cause analysis, 8D methodology and continuous improvement.
- Core competencies: analytical thinking, communication, decisiveness, integrity, environmental awareness, planning and results focus.
- Proven experience in supplier quality.
