Job Summary

To support the commercial aero engine rotating structural components (Design and Development of LPT) in relation to mechanical analysis and verification for product development by being flexible to work as a team member or to lead a team as per changing business demands.

Job Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

You will work at GAI as a solid mechanics engineer to support mechanical analysis and verification for commercial aero engine rotating structural components. This includes supporting value streams for new and or existing product development programs, non-conformance evaluation and substantiation, leading, coaching and /or mentoring teams or individuals and closely interacting with the commercial value streams at GAS.

Skills, Experience and Qualification:

  • M.Tech/ equivalent or above within the disciplines of applied mechanics/solid mechanics with sound understanding of engineering fundamentals
  • Strong technical knowledge of engine components (Rotors in particular), material durability, manufacturing processes and material application in aviation industry
  • Good working knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of dynamic requirements for rotating structural design and proven experience in design of turbine components.
  • Proven work experience of 9-12 years in finite element methods, product design & development with Aero engine components in  OEM’s or similar industries
  • Ability to operate  without supervision in a complex environment, demonstrates detailed knowledge in aerospace programs to understand product development processes, and suggest solutions as project demands.
  • Ability to identify  technical problems and customers requirements,  ability to interpret data, events and looks for appropriate solutions
  • Knowledge of Quality systems, Lean way of working and demonstrated experience in process automation and Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong skills in CAD and CAE tools (Unigraphics, Ansys, SimCenter, Hyper works) 
  • Working knowledge of programming languages like Python, VBA will be added advantage.
  • Fluent in English with excellent skills in writing technical documents.
