Job Summary

The Program Support Officer supports the day to day program operations of the defense business within the Amityville, NY and Wellington KS sites and is responsible for the administration and activities associated with control and monitoring of progress, scope, cost and resource management within the program.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Program Manger to ensure execution of scheduled engineering and manufacturing activity.
  • First point of escalation for customer purchase order or contractual issues internally and from customer.
  • Compiling and schedules/ plans for the program.
  • Monitoring on progress, scope, and costs and for the program and facilitating variance analysis.
  • Initiating of improvements/ recoveries for on-time delivery (OTD) and quality (Q) from Customer Scorecards in close collaboration with the responsible disciplines.
  • Preparing and maintaining the customer outlook for budgeting purposes via ERP entries.
  • Review Customer MRP and conclude on demand changes, check against contractual conditions and update demand as part of MPS.
  • Supporting Risk and Opportunity Management activities and managing the risk register to control and mitigate the risk exposure.
  • Establishing and controlling robust document management in the IPT and towards/ from the customer.
  • Maintaining key performance metrics and contribute to internal reporting requirements.
  • Supporting creation, coordination, delivery and negotiation of change, follow-on, and new business proposals in response to customer requests.
  • Ensuring customer payment in accordance with agreed payment terms.
  • Preparing and analyzing the Program Performance Summary (PPS), and initiating and tracking actions in case of deviations.
  • Skilled in drafting communications to flow to peers, leaders and customers.
  • Adhering to all program management and Commercial standards and policies in accordance with the GKN Aerospace Program Management framework and contribute to process development
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor or business line leadership as new platforms are quoted and awarded.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 8+ years of contracts administration and project management experience OR,
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of contracts administration and project management experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in business, engineering, or operations preferred.
  • GKN ERP experience.
  • Customer Focused- excellence in customer service.
  • High reasoning and problem solving skills - verbal, numeracy and literacy.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Strong desire to learn.
