The Role:

Our new Quality Engineering Apprenticeship is offered to apprentices targeted with becoming skilled engineers within a quality function.  It will develop successful candidates in our niche product range and is key to the continued success and growth of our business. Over the life of the programme our apprentices will pass through each of the manufacturing processes giving you the opportunity to work within a growing engineering business, allowing you to experience the working environment whilst continuing your studies. Further education & development is available on completion of apprenticeship.

Quality

As an Aerospace manufacturer, quality is at the forefront of everything we produce.  Many of our products are skilfully hand finished therefore attention to detail is critical.  Quality in Aerospace is about more than just making Ice Protection Systems and Transparencies, it is about process adherence and taking pride in everything that you do. You will learn to read, understand and interpret technical drawings, implement work instructions, and deliver quality product.

What will I be doing

  • Quality function to ensure compliance to Tier 1 customers and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that all documentation conforms to industry / customer quality standards & supports customer new product needs.
  • Support engineering change management of components / materials.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement process – internal – external, quality, cost, innovation, delivery and management
  • Ensure they are fully conversant and compliant with the Company’s Health and Safety policies.
  • Any other reasonable duties

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old to apply
  • Candidates will have already achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English and a Science.
  • Candidates will be able to demonstrate a drive to achieve and a desire and commitment for learning. They will be well presented, enthusiastic with a flexible and friendly approach.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation and be flexible in approach.
