Business Administration Apprentice

An exciting opportunity for a Business Administration Apprentice has become available at our Aerospace manufacturing facility in East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.

You will support areas across the business for administration tasks. You will do this by:

  • Supporting the sites administration such as organising meetings and diaries, ordering stationery, processing expenses claims etc..
  • Issuing and typing of minutes, reports, presentations and memos.
  • Carry out other administrative duties necessary to support managers across the business.
  • Management of travel and ordering of hire cars for the business.
  • Maintain Time and Attendance records.
  • Assistance in the organisation of customer and visitors.
  • Following up of actions on behalf of managers.
  • Managing the room bookings and requirements.
  • Management of events – internal and external.

Apprentice Programme Structure:

Year 1 & 2:  Some of your first year will be working at college towards appropriate Business & Administration qualifications dependent on your current level.  During the first year, you will undertake a series of Business Familiarisation placements within different areas of the business to gain a wide experience, understanding and knowledge. This experience will be recorded in the form of logbook entries which will be reviewed monthly with your GKN training advisor.

  • To observe the company’s terms and conditions of employment.
  • In both work and training, to be diligent, punctual and attend courses, keep records and take tests to be determined by the company in order to achieve the training objectives and quality gates
  • To behave in a responsible manner and in accordance with the requirements of Health & Safety legislation relating to the individual’s responsibilities.
  • To promote the company’s name and image with respect and diplomacy.
  • To successfully complete all activities documented in the Apprentice Training Agreement.

Qualifications:

You must have at least five GCSE’s

Maths A* - B   (9 - 6 New Grading)

English A* - C (9 – 4 New Grading)

Science A* - C (9 – 4 New Grading)  

Plus two more A* - C (9 – 4 New Grading)

You will need the right to work in the UK, currently, if you live outside the EU you will need a UK work permit before you can start an apprenticeship.
